POOLEWE COMMUNITY LAND ACQUISITION
The last time we updated you on our project we were waiting to hear about the timetable for submitting our Scottish Land Fund Stage 2 bid for funding, while we continued to work on the bid. We had been expecting the deadline to be well into the new financial year - after the Scottish Government elections. As you may imagine, we were quite surprised to be told at very short notice that there was a submission date on 31 March. Initially we thought this was good news but when we looked at what we had to complete within a couple of weeks, we reluctantly decided to wait for the next deadline. We are waiting for information from Highland Council and others which we need to complete our business plan and we felt our bid would be inadequate without it.
However, it has been announced that the next available submission date is in early July (to be confirmed) so that gives us a new target to aim for. We are confident we will be able to get everything we want to do completed by then. This new date also means that we should have time to hold another public consultation session to get final thoughts from the community before we submit our bid.
